Systemic Family Practitioner
Would you like the chance to make a real difference in young people and family’s lives?
Then this is the job for you!
Youth First was born from the passion of youth and play workers to create a means to sustain and ideally grow youth work for young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 with SEND), in Lewisham and beyond.
In recent years, Mental Wellbeing has fast become an integral part of the work we deliver within our open access Youth Clubs and Adventure Playgrounds and our Street based offer, but also within our Targeted offer including the work we deliver through our One-to-One Practitioners. We recently launched the role of our Mental Wellbeing Practitioner funded by City Bridge, who will deliver one to one wellbeing sessions for children and young people aged 13 to 19 years and up to 25 with SEND.
The Systemic Family Practitioner (SFP) role will sit within the Targeted Team along with the One-to-One and Mental Wellbeing Practitioners to continue to grow the wellbeing offer within Youth First and extend this offer beyond children and young people, and to their parents and carers. The SFP will work with the families of children and young people aged 13-19 and up to 25 with SEND and will be managed by the Targeted Head of Operations and provided the compulsory clinical supervisor by London Borough of Lewisham. You will be based at sites across Lewisham borough with some hybrid working.
The Targeted Team also consists of Themed Group work which delivers issue-based workshops to children and young people such as self-esteem and confidence, managing anger, relationships and staying safe. The team includes our Youth Voice Practitioner, responsible for ensuring young people’s voices are heard and incorporated across all remits and our Volunteers Coordinator who also runs our parent's forums.
If you have a passion for children, young people and wellbeing, then this role may be for you.
